oola at 9pm
hey gang!
Can't believe I've let so much time pass since the last SFWednesday. I'm going to blame work. ;) This time we're hittin SOMA at 9pm for late dinner and drinks:
Oola
860 Folsom St (Cross Street: Fifth Street)

CitySearch says:
The Scene
Open a heavy, two-story-high door on this desolate stretch of Folsom and find a welcoming blend of raw grit and modern elegance. Exposed-brick walls are juxtaposed with gauzy curtains that hang over each one of the three person-deep booths. A row of squat white-leather stools give a whimsical feel to the otherwise industrial-looking space.
The Food
A short-but-sweet menu is full of comfort food favorites pulled from many culinary traditions. The powerhouses of France and Italy are well-represented, with duck confit served with ratatouille and chicken under a brick garnished with sauteed broccoli rabe. Even all-American classics are celebrated, with a juicy hamburger gussied up with truffle cheese, and Northwestern-inspired cedar-roasted wild salmon. But the kitchen also dishes up a few of its own creations, like a tomato-based seafood chowder crowned with puff pastry. Skip the childlike desserts, like banana Oreo crepes, and get another cocktail instead.
please RSVP on this one. Oola can get crowded so I guessed we'd be about 8 but they said I could update the reservation (it is under my name) tomorrow as I know more...
See ya there!
