John Colins with Paul!

Wednesday is upon us again!

February 15, come join us at John Colins (by SFMoma). Paul's in town and he'll be there. Come by and buy him a drink or just say "Hi!" We'll be there ~9-ish. Be there or be square!

The Scene
This urban bungalow features a blend of industrial touches, like exposed brick walls and vaulted ceilings, warmed up with sexy dim lighting, a leather-padded bar with matching stools and large kitschy paintings of dogs. Tall tropical plants serve as organic dividers between groupings of leather ottomans. The projected vintage or surfer flicks above the door are a nice ambient touch. The owners have been in the industry for a while, so the crowd includes fellow club managers and bartenders mingling with hipsters and SoMa workers.

The Draw
The bar staff is fanatical about cocktails, so it's a pleasure to work one's way through the menu of concoctions, in addition to letting them make special recommendations of liquors from the "floating" bar shelves. The Cherrybomb, a martini made with Effen Black Cherry Vanilla vodka, sugar and grenadine, is especially seductive. Although the environment is sleek, it's refreshingly unpretentious.

See you soon,
Helena

PS Let me know if you have any recommendations. Not being one of the city-folk it is hard for me to just come up with fun places to go. :)
